Two sides to every story

It is said that there are two sides to every story. That seems to be particularly true of the recent attempt to assassinate Donald Trump. One side is prepared to say nothing less than, “The man literally took a bullet for his country.” The other side is not even prepared to acknowledge that Trump was injured by gunfire. If you have not seen the footage, Trump was shot in the ear — very nearly a headshot that would have ended his life. The liberal media responded with the following headlines:
USA Today: “Trump removed from stage by Secret Service after loud noises startles former president, crowd”
NBC News: “Secret Service rushes Trump off stage after popping noises heard at his Pennsylvania rally”
CNN: “Trump injured in incident at rally”
LA Times: “Trump whisked off stage in Pennsylvania after loud noises rang through the crowd”
MSNBC: “Secret Service: Donald Trump safe after popping sounds heard at rally”
CNN: “Secret Service rushes Trump off stage after he falls at rally”
Do any of those indicate in any way that his life was at risk? In fact, he tilted his head away from the bullet’s flight path a split second before the first bullet hit him in the ear. If not for that slight movement, Trump is a dead man. But CNN’s headline is that Trump fell at a rally?! Why does anyone trust these sources? They are so very dishonest.
Meanwhile, a firefighter and father named Corey Comperatore was killed. His last words to his widow: “Get down!” He reportedly died shielding his family from the bullets intended for Donald Trump. But it is hard for the mainstream media to acknowledge a heroic life lost when they cannot even publish in the headline that Trump was the target of a rifle-wielding assassin. Shameful.
Killing Baby Hitler
Most of us are familiar with the thought experiment about killing “baby Hitler.” The premise is that, with a Time Machine, one could go back in time and avoid the atrocities perpetrated by Nazi leader Adolf Hitler by killing him when he was just a baby. Knowing that you could save 17 million lives, including the lives of untold numbers of other babies, would you kill that baby Hitler? It is an unpleasant thing to consider, but really it comes down to this: what actions can we rationalize to save ourselves from a threat like Hitler?
This is an extremely relevant thought experiment in 2024. We have recently discussed the problems with the Nazi Democrats pointing the finger at Trump, but they persist and it is having a real impact. We are told that Trump is the second coming of Hitler. We are told that democracy will end if Trump is re-elected. We are told that he is the greatest threat to America that we have ever faced. So, if we are to believe those claims, what actions can we rationalize to save ourselves from such a threat?
There are plenty in the “yes, I would kill baby Hitler” camp. When you combine that mentality with the incessant message from the liberal media that “Trump is Hitler,” what should we expect? Should we expect someone to take it upon themselves to kill Trump before he commits the unspeakable atrocities that the media warns us about? Why would we not expect it?
The masses of Americans who have condemned Donald Trump for inciting the January 6th insurrection must recognize that the same thing is happening when the media opines on what they want America to believe about Trump. Fair is fair. If Trump is guilty for J6, the media is guilty of dismantling American culture (including being complicit in J6) and of driving Americans to extreme thoughts and actions. It is not a huge leap from assessing Donald Trump as a threat to Democracy to finding the modern deceitful media to be the greatest threat to America’s future that our nation has ever had to overcome.
There is obviously an ethical dilemma when it comes to killing a baby. But the mainstream media is not in its infancy. It is a full-grown behemoth. The mainstream media is dangerous. We deserve protection from the media. The father who died shielding his family from the assassin’s gunfire did his part to protect his family from the media-fueled hate behind the bullet that took his life — he deserved protection from the poison of the media.
There are so many dishonest media members. But let us discuss the poster child of liberal media privilege, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. With her, it is nothing new. We can go back to January 2017, when she explained that if she interviewed Trump, she would ask, “Are you going to send me or anybody that I know to a camp?” Maddow was certainly on the forefront of the Trump is Hitler rhetoric. Much more recently, Maddow said, “They’re trying to end the American system of government. They’re trying to bring about a revolution against the American system of government and against the United States.” She is a fear-mongering liar (conservatives actually want to preserve the integrity of the American system of government). You can take any one of her episodes and use a simple web search to discredit dozens of claims that she makes. Comparing Trump to Hitler trivializes the atrocities committed under the Nazi regime, and Maddow should be ashamed of her role in promoting this rhetoric — Corey Comperatore’s blood is on her hands.
[Side Note: For those unaware, Maddow is famous among independent content creators on YouTube for her misinformation that remains available for viewing to this day. Thousands of creators lost their ability to publish content (i.e., were censored) for merely questioning the efficacy of an experimental vaccine about which Maddow infamously claimed, “A vaccinated person gets exposed to the virus, the virus does not infect them, the virus cannot then use that person to go anywhere else. It cannot use a vaccinated person as a host to go get more people.” Of course, we now know that was misinformation. But tons of others (including medical professionals) had their videos pulled for simply suggesting that we need to learn more about the vaccine, for sharing actual medical information that was counter to the prevailing wisdom of the “Rachel Maddows” of the world, and who just stood up for individual liberties. That doesn’t make them right or wrong. But it is wrong to censor the independent thoughts of so many others while the privileged mainstream media is allowed to continue to make their misinformation available. She feigns to hold herself to such a high standard, but she never apologized for misinforming the public with these statements. And she never, ever will. She does not care about you or anyone else.]
How convinced are we that Trump — a man who failed to get half of the votes against a retired political retread in 2020 — has more sway and influence over the direction of our divided culture than the mainstream media that reaches a much larger percentage of the U.S. population? An enormous number of potential Trump voters are very reluctant about casting their vote for him and are not at all Trump “supporters.” Whether he gets the votes to beat Biden and Kennedy, which seems even more likely after the assassination attempt, he still does not have the influence over most of the public that media has.
Kill One Evil Baby, Kill Them All?
Extending the thought experiment… What if that baby was an infant Joe Biden? What exactly could we rationalize? After all, hundreds of thousands are dead because he refused to entertain an end to the Ukraine-Russia war. Thousands of Americans have suffered because of his open border policy. The list goes on, so what if you had the chance to stop an evil Biden before he reached office?
Recently, “news” broadcasters let us know how healthy Joe Biden’s campaign is by celebrating a fundraiser hosted by George Clooney and other people with more money than judgment. They raised a boatload of money! Even more recently, Clooney acknowledged that Joe Biden is going to lose — plus, he predicts that Democrats will fail to hang on to the Senate and will lose ground in the House. Basically, Clooney suggested that the Democratic Party is screwed. The fun result (at least if you don’t like political parties) is that we get to watch the Democrats eat one of their own. The Democrats are programmed to go along with the Democrat crowd, in a herd-like manner (sounds kinda like the Republicans, am I right?). The point is: the Democrat elite are now ready to throw their baby (their really, really old baby) to the wolves.
They are a little late to the party, though. Let’s take a look at some of Biden’s not-so-liberal takes on policy. In his response to George Bush’s 1989 State of the Union address (the Bush “drug speech”), Biden addressed the drug epidemic, supportive of sending drug users and dealers to prison for a long time. Now, before we get into his 1989 position, let us remind you: when his own son, Hunter Biden, was embroiled in a drug addiction scandal, the Democrat herd celebrated him for being compassionate and supportive to someone struggling with drug addiction.
Biden’s claim in 1989 was that Republicans were not going far enough in terms of punishing drug users and dealers, and he demanded more severe punishments. In 1989, he said, “First we have to join together and ensure that drug dealers are punished, swiftly, surely, and severely, in the line with what the president is calling for. We have to hold every drug user accountable. Because if there are no, uh, no drug users, there would be no appetite for drugs and there would be no market for them.” The 1989 version of Biden suggested, “Ya know, drug education is the only vaccine we have against drug abuse among our young.” He likes that word, “vaccine,” doesn’t he? Perhaps he should have educated his own kid.
Hmm. Ok. Punish drug users, just like Hunter… right? Fat chance. Did Biden happen to say anything in 1989 about illegal immigration and drugs entering our country across the southwest border? He in fact said, “We disagree with the president’s decision to cutback on our previous commitment to protect against drugs coming across the border, to cut the customs service, the coast guard, and the border patrol. We think we should do more to stem the flow of drugs across our borders. And we think we should go one step further. Let’s go after the drug lords where they live, with an international strike force. There must be no safe haven for these narco terrorists.” What happened to that Joe?? If you don’t believe how insanely different his rhetoric of THIRTY-FIVE YEARS AGO was, listen for yourself. You might find he is a genuine “lying, dog-faced pony soldier.”
Biden criticized a Republican president for being too soft on drugs, for not providing enough jail cells to put drug users in and not providing enough police to pursue those users. Biden later explained that new penalties, based on the size of “rock” of crack cocaine — new penalties at which he arrived in cooperation with (prominent racist) Senator Strom Thurmond — if the rock is larger than a U.S. quarter, you get five years in prison with no probation… “judge doesn’t have a choice.” Many consider this attitude to be racist. There is a vast imbalance in terms of the racial statistics of those who have gone to jail for that small rock of crack cocaine. The overwhelming number of imprisonments have been black individuals. Feeling this way, Biden must have had a difficult time as VP when President Obama signed the Fair Sentencing Act, which intended to reduce the disparity between crack (the black person drug) and powder (the white person drug) cocaine sentences. Except he did not have a difficult time because he has no morals at all.
Ultimately, Biden’s son was afforded a different class of punishment when his cocaine addiction landed him in hot water. Hunter consistently found new and convenient ways to get out of trouble. White boy Hunter had no trouble getting out of that hot water. Black kids went to jail – the judge had no choice. So, does that make Joe Biden a racist?
Okay, so Joe Biden was a bit racist. But that was just against those drug dealing and drug abusing black citizens, right? He has a black woman as his VP, so he can’t be too racist! Well… let’s check in with Kamala Harris, why don’t we? During a June 2019 debate (before everyone realized she was not presidential material), Harris went after Biden’s archaic anti-integration policies, commenting on his efforts to oppose busing practices. She said, “There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bused to school every day. And that little girl was me.” Harris challenged Biden to admit that he was wrong to oppose busing practices. He refused. [It didn’t matter, because she turned out to be a sell out, taking her spot as second fiddle to her racist boss.] But should someone go back in time to kill baby Joe Biden? Or 1989 racist Joe Biden? Or 2019 liar Biden?
2024 is obviously not the first time Joe Biden has run for president. He has failed to gain the nomination time and time again throughout his career before getting the 2020 nomination. In 1987, he bizarrely lied about his education, claiming, “I went to law school on a full academic scholarship, the only one in my… my class to have a full academic scholarship. Went back to law school. And in fact ended up in the top half of my class. I was the outstanding student in the political science department at the end of my year. I graduated with three degrees from undergraduate school.” NONE of that was true. Guess who called him on it at the time? The mainstream media, which once had some integrity (this was a long time ago, y’all). Biden has only become more infamous for his strange and untrue claims over the years. He is a well-documented compulsive liar. [But we thought Trump was supposed to be the big, bad liar, right?]. Biden was also busted for plagiarism during his 1988 presidential campaign for copying the speech of another politician. Plus he has more hair today than he did in 1987. What the heck is that about?!
Never mind that Biden is historically racist by his own modern day standards and a liar of Trumpian proportions. He and his wife refused to acknowledge one of their own grandchildren! Yes, the child was the illegitimate offspring of their own embarrassing child. But it was their grand-baby, everyone knew it, and they had no reason to deny it. FOR YEARS. They are awful.
Plus, there is the genocide. “Genocide Joe” is a thing. Sort of. Biden has been accused of supporting and promoting the genocide of Palestinian civilians. How compatible is genocide with your beliefs? Of course, the organizations that promoted the Genocide Joe narrative were funded by Democratic donors like George Soros and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. So, what is their motivation? How compatible is your belief that Bill Gates is benevolent with his organization supporting the Genocide Joe rhetoric? If you have Democrats attacking Democrats, who should you really end up believing? Well, the answer to that question is simple enough: None of the above!
Why do Democrat supporters still pretend that Biden is some kind of class act? He has an unbelievable history of being everything they oppose! His history of policy is racist. He promotes wars. He is a compulsive liar. He failed to love even his own family. He is just… kinda terrible. And that shines through his presidency and his policy. While the liberal media sheds crocodile tears in the aftermath of Biden’s debate debacle and while they are now almost in unison with the refrain “Biden is a good man, but he should step aside,” please understand that they know he is not a good man — they have decades of evidence to the contrary.
So, Two Fascists Walk into a Presidential Election…
If fascism is defined as, “A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, a capitalist economy subject to stringent governmental controls, violent suppression of the opposition, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism,” then is Trump really fascist?
He was president for four years, so let’s take a look at his record. His administration oversaw the FBI raid of the home of his political opponent and authorized the use of deadly force. His administration promoted wars that funneled taxpayer dollars to weapons manufacturers. He has a long history of racist policies. His administration ushered in an era of crushing the prospects of financial security for millions of young citizens to the benefit of the wealthiest people in the world (not just the wealthiest Americans). His administration pursued unprecedented legal attacks against political opponents. His administration worked in partnership with social media companies to silence American voices. That’s fascism, people! But wait… that was not Trump — he did none of those things. That was Biden and his administration that did all of those things.
That is not to say that Trump is not fascist. Perhaps he is. But Biden and the Democratic Party he represents are far more fascist. And the “Rachel Maddows” of the world are complicit in the harm these fascists are actually doing.

Let us allow that to soak in for a moment… Ahhhh. Ok, now let’s look at a message from 2016 in which Vance referred to Trump as “America’s Hitler.”
It is almost too good to be true.
Goodness knows Vance just put a target on his back by accepting the VP nod. And the mainstream media is going to feast on him for the next couple of weeks/months. They are going to dig through his voting record and his tweets. They are going to unearth everything possible that will make him look bad to the voting public. Immediately, the media has exposed Vance’s background of being anti-Trump. They are going to make him out to be a terrible human being. A monster. A fascist! But…
Maybe Vance is not a bad choice for Trump? Right now, there are a lot of people who do not want to vote for Biden but have trouble imagining themselves voting for Trump. Vance was one of those people just a few years ago. And now? Well, now he is in Trump’s corner and he is going to tell everyone why he flipped. And his story is going to hit home with some, who will also flip.
Two Sides to Every Story – Bringing It On Home
“Trump took a bullet for America” versus “Secret Service rushes Trump off stage after he falls at rally”.
“Clooney raises millions for Biden” versus “Clooney acknowledges Biden will lose”.
“Biden calls for punishing drug users” versus “Biden compassionately supports his drug addict son”.
“Trump is a fascist” versus “Biden is actually the fascist”.
“JD Vance defends Trump” versus “JD Vance refers to Trump as Hitler”.
“Trump’s rhetoric got him shot” versus “The deceitful media’s rhetoric got Trump shot”.
Perhaps it is true that there are two sides to every story. The whole Democrats versus Republicans thing is a pretty two-sided story, right? It is about who is in power. It is about who the winner is. But here’s the thing: The more that either a Democrat OR a Republican win, the more the average American loses.
In the meantime, we here at Meet Me in the Middle continue to pursue the truth. The next truth we anticipate: Biden will be dropping out of the race. It is not a done deal, but the stage has been set. Biden recently acknowledged in an interview with Lester Holt that he will drop out if he is diagnosed with an illness. Step one of setting the stage, complete. Democrat leaders are now working to postpone Biden’s nomination. Step two, complete. The media is turning on Biden. Step three, complete. The Democratic Party is scrambling at the moment, because they know Biden is going down in flames. That is counter to the other side of the story: that Biden is still their best hope to defeat Trump. Grab your popcorn, the political theater is still ramping up.
One thing is almost certain: If Biden steps down, the Democrats will replace him with someone who is just as fascistic and just as harmful to America. They have painted Trump to be some sort of extremist (despite his fairly moderate and peaceful track record, J6 aside), so they need the opposite extreme to fight back.
A parting thought: The Democrats might not have ended up in this spot if they had not rewritten their own rules to block Bobby Kennedy from having access to the nomination process. They overruled their own nomination process and pushed a valuable candidate out. Of course, Kennedy does not fit their extreme left mold — he is much more about unifying America. Would Kennedy answer the call from the Democrat Party? Do we interpret the Biden administration finally granting Kennedy Secret Service protection (only in the wake of the Trump assassination attempt) as something of an olive branch? Maybe the Democrats can grovel enough to get Kennedy back? If they do, he will very likely beat Trump. If Trump wins, however, we can reflect on the Democrats attempt to kill Kennedy’s campaign in its infancy as one of their many mistakes in 2024.
Bringing It On Home… Again
Well, that didn’t take long! Biden is officially out of the 2024 election. The poor, muddled, shell of a man gets to retire without having to endure another torturous election cycle. He can go enjoy his ice cream cones in peace. Good for him.
When he backed out, Biden gave his endorsement to his VP, Kamala Harris. It looks like she is the front runner for the Democratic nomination. The Democrats are all about identity politics, so it is not like they had any choice but to trot her out there. It would be completely antithetical to their own misguided doctrines if they were to nominate anyone else. You have a black woman as the VP when the President bows out of his re-election bid… of course they have to nominate her! Their hands were tied.
We would love to report that Harris is a Meet Me in the Middle kind of candidate. Unfortunately, there is no evidence of that despite attempts to cast her as a “moderate” (Biden was supposed to be the “moderate” savior of America, too, by the way). As muddled and confused as Biden has been for the past few years, Harris presents herself as perhaps even more muddled and confused. Perhaps the Democrats know Trump is going to shred her to pieces, and they are just letting her take her shot to get her out of the way so that they can regroup for 2028. Who knows. But going with Harris seems a lot like throwing in the towel. In the meantime, we should be excited for her to have more opportunities give us her spiritual gems, like:
“You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?! (cackle, cackle) You exist in the context of all in which you live and came before you.”
“Talking about the significance of the passage of time. Right. The significance of the passage of time. So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time.”
“See the moment in time in which we exist in our present. And to be able to contextualize it, to understand where we exist in the history and in the moment as it relates not only to the past but the future.”
And, of course, her trademark (please watch as much of this as you can stomach):
“We have the ability to see what can be, unburdened by what has been, and then to make the possible actually happen.”
[Someone somewhere at some point along the way evidently told her this was something that she could say, combined with her overly exuberant head bobbing, to make her seem smart — reminiscent of Kit Harrington’s character in 7 Days in Hell. Indubitably.]
Great googly moogly! This is going to be a heck of a ride! We will cover Harris a bit more in the coming weeks. For now, we will just encourage everyone to be open to criticism of her and hesitant to buying all the positive things we hear from the deceitful mainstream media.
It has been a crazy couple of weeks in presidential election politics! An assassination attempt, the Trump VP announcement, Biden dropping out, and now VP Harris as the Democratic front runner? When will we find out about her VP pick? The Democrats have a pretty thin bench these days. Grab your popcorn!
